RETORT R.I.P

After much deliberation I have decided to retire Retort Magazine. I know I have almost done it several times, but this is the real deal. I simply do not have the resources, financially or timewise to continue bringing Retort Readers a quality magazine. I tried for many years to attract some sort of funding to keep the press running but it seemed all I could attract was more readers. Despite the ever growing popularity and accolades from all corners of the earth no one with money ever put it where their mouth is.

Thank you to all of the poets, writers and artists of all descriptions who appeared in Retort, may you live long and prosper. Thank you to the individual readers who donated a few bucks to the cause, your donations helped keep Retort online for this long. No thanks and fuck you to all of the government ‘creative’ agencies who surfed on a daily basis (I am a visitor stats hawkeye, I saw your ISPs) and all of the private corporations who stole my ideas and my artists but never offered a cent.
